B90 Check in Week One (Monday 1-2-12)

Posting a bit early just because my house happens to be actually a bit calm right now!  :)   We also have some participants in different countries that are on different time zones!

This is it!  We are at the starting line.  Time to begin the digging in and reading God's word cover to cover....and hopefully in 90 days!  Time to be connected to Him more than ever.  A new year----a new chance for God to use each of us!

I'm so excited for EACH and EVERY single one of you that are reading along with our group.

Let me tell you.....

I am humbled.
I am overwhelmed.
I am nervous.
I am excited.

When I agreed to "jump in" in this capacity, I had no idea what God was planning.  I still don't have a clue what is going to happen in these next 90 days.  I know this....

He has already moved me.  He has already allowed so many of you to touch my heart deeply.  The openness that you've shared your own struggles and how transparent you've been literally shocked me.  I'm fervently praying for each of those requests you have shared.  Some of you are going through some very difficult times.  Others of you just want to be that much closer to God----for this to be THE time that His love wraps around you so tightly that you can literally feel Him next to you.  I'm praying that for you, too.

I'm "just" a mom.  I'm no one of significance.  To know that each of you is stepping out in faith on this adventure and sharing in this time together....is just overwhelming.

I'm also praying that I can encourage you along the way.  I'm praying that my heart is open to be used by God in His way and in His power.  Not of my own power.  Not of my own strength.  I don't want my own pride and selfishness to get in the way.  I don't want to be a hindrance of any kind.  I'm praying that God takes captive each and every one of my thoughts and leads me.

I'm believing in each of you.  I believe you each made a commitment for a reason and that there was something specifically in the timing.

I admit that Satan has already been attacking.  He doesn't want me to succeed in this task of leading OR reading.  He doesn't want to see any of us succeed.  Guess what?  Our God is WAY bigger and WAY stronger!  Crowding out the doubts.  Feeding my faith so my doubts will starve.  Praying that for each of you as well!

Ready....get set.....GO!  We are in this together.

Be sure to check in each Monday.  Let us know where you are.  Don't forget that if you don't want to share with the group, you definitely have the option of sending an email.  I can't promise to answer immediately BUT I will answer and I WILL pray!  I will believe in you to succeed!

This week's reading plan:
Monday 2nd  Genesis 1:1 through 16:16
Tuesday 3rd Genesis 17:1 through 28:19
Wednesday 4th Genesis 28:20 through 40:11
Thursday 5th Genesis 40:12 through Genesis 50:26
Friday 6th Exodus 1:1 through 15:18
Saturday 7th Exodus 15:19 through 28:43
Sunday 8th Exodus 29:1 through 40:38

For those of you wanting to read the SOAPS that Amy has posted on MomsToolbox in the past, week one can be found here.

Start strong this week.  Don't let anything cause you to get behind.  You don't want to get started out so early with being behind.  Stick with it and let it boost your confidence.

If you get stuck on something, just jot down a few notes so that you can come back to it later.  Highlight things that speak to your heart.  Most importantly READ and PRAY.  Ask God to open your heart to His word in a fresh, new, powerful way.  It may be your first time.  It may be the 10th time.....it doesn't matter!  God WILL use this time with you!

Looking forward to hearing from each of you that you've gotten started!  Ready....set...GO!

Hi Tracye, This is Sam from Jeonju (South Korea). I don't know where you reside, but since South Korea is 16 hours ahead of California (Pacific Standard), I may have to check in on Sundays (when it's Sunday in the States, it's already Monday in Korea). Anyway, I'm on schedule with the reading (I'm actually almost finished with the reading for Day 2 as well)

Checking in - good morning. Saw things I hadn't thought of before. Looking forward to a great B90!

I did it! Mondays are the hardest for me, probably because I'm just so tired :) But I've altered my schedule and gotten started! So excited to hear what God has for each of us! Thank you for hosting us, Tracye! Since this is my 2nd time and our family is in the midst of turmoil I really need the encouragement...so I announced that I'm reading the Bible through in 90 days and have 10 other people joining me! I'm so excited because that's 10 more people opening their hearts to God's Living Word! Praise Him!!!!

Already done for the day...laid quietly in bed before everyone got up. And, actually read ahead a little bit because the "Story" was so good! ;)

Thanks for doing this, Tracye. Hope you are blessed as much by the leading and the reading! :)

Hi, Tracye! I agree that Satan is already at work, but God is BIGGER! We had a windy night here in Chicagoland which meant my 4 year old who usually doesn't wake up until 7:30 or so woke up and came downstairs as soon as I cracked my Bible open to start reading. It was still dark outside. :/ LOL However, I set her up on the couch with some milk, a blanket and asked her to give me 45 minutes to an hour. She watched Sprout (thank God for kid tv! ) ;), and I got my reading in. Yay! I am on track! Praying for all of you!!

@Sheri D - I'm in Ogle County, about 1.5 - 2 hrs from the city. Just moved to IL last August from Michigan. Was hoping there would be someone "nearby" in this group! :)

I have to say that I was so nervous going to bed last night trying to figure out how to balance everything. When I woke up this morning, I had a MUCH calmer spirit about me and was so encouraged to see so many of you that have ALREADY completed today's reading AND checked in! GREAT job! Way to go: Sarah, Aiicia, Beth, Connie, Mandy, Dawn, Debbie, Sam, and Sheri!!!! Connie: that is amazing that you already have others joining you! Sam: I will try to make sure that the check in post goes up on Sunday night so that it will be available for you since you are almost an entire day ahead of us! Mandy: Glad you are joining us! To all of you: I'm so proud of each of you for getting started!

Sherri K: checking in...finished today's reading earlier this morning. :)

I'm checking in. I haven't started reading yet. I typically do my reading later in the day, since I'm up really early to milk cows every morning. On school days, I read while the kids are doing their school work (I homeschool our 3 kids). I also have the B90 reading plan on my cell phone (youversion.com has many, many reading plans and B90 is one of them). That way, if I'm waiting at piano or violin lessons or any of our other activities, I don't have an excuse not to read ;-)

@Beth/Mom2TwoVikings~ That is so cool! So, I had not actually heard of Ogle County (we moved here five years ago from Virginia so that's my excuse lol), but I looked it up. :D We live in Bolingbrook, not too far from Naperville. It looks like you are northwest of us, if I am not mistaken. I am a horrible map reader! LOL That is awesome that there is someone close in here! Nice to "meet" you!! :)

I'm here and I'm excited! I have a full plate right now, but I need to dedicate myself to this. My word for this year is "Declutter." I've never done a word for the year. I wanted to and this is the one that God kept placing in front of me. One of the areas I need to declutter is my time. I need to focus on what's important. This reading plan will help. Looking forward to this!

89 more days to go! Whoot! LOL!! Tracye, your note on this first day was inspiration and BEAUTIFUL! Group, as we continue on, remember that Tracye has quite literally put her life on the line with the enemy by hosting this B90. As she prays for us, let us keep her, also, in our constant prayers. She is a mighty woman of God, and we all know how much Satan hates THAT! Blessings and favor surround you and your family, Tracye!! Looking forward to kicking the devil right between the eyes! Let's do this!!

Finished Day 1 earlier today! :) Can't wait to keep going. Also using YouVersion on my phone for those times I have 10-15 minutes to read.

Way to go everyone! So happy that so many of you have done today's reading AND checked in. About 80% of you checked in (either here on the blog or by email!)and that is GREAT! Be sure to include your name in your comment if you use the anonymous identity...otherwise I'm not sure who checked in. Tristine: thank you so very much for you VERY sweet words. GREATLY appreciated! Mary: YES..you can break it up many times during the day. It's VERY hard to do it all at once with our busy lives. For those of you that have mentioned the youversion phone app...that is a GREAT tool. I used that my 2nd time and my husband is currently using it. Melinda: I like that word. I haven't decided on mine for this year, but I'm thinking of continuing "purpose" from last year.

I'm here! I actually started my reading Sunday morning, so I am two days into it already. I figured I would need that third grace day! :) I almost totally forgot about checking in today--but at least I didn't forget about doing the reading! :) So happy to be joining the rest of the ladies (and gentlemen) who are doing this!

I guess I should have started yesterday when I was thinking about it so often. Today was so busy I forgot all about reading until now. I'll have to get on it right away!

I'm loving reading all the comments on here. Congratulations to Amanda on the birth of your new blessing! Prayers of encouragement and consistency going up for all.

Just starting my reading, now that the house is quieter! I'm also from Chicagoland, by the way, for the two other readers in the area! In St. Charles, about 30 min from Naperville.

Hi, Jessica D.!! It's great to see another neighbor on here! Also, just wanted to say congratulations to Amanda! I will definitely be praying for you and your little one. Also praying for all of the rest of you all as we go through this journey. I'm already looking forward to my reading tomorrow!!

Finished with the reading, and I am actually a little ahead of schedule. Through this Bible in 90 Day journey, I love that we are each filling our souls and our lives with God's living water and His truth everyday, and I am so glad that Tracye decided to start off the new year by serving God and each one of us by hosting this. Thank you so much, Tracye!!

Even though I have completed this journey once before, it is truly an honor and privilege to join alongside each one of you in reading through the Bible cover to cover.

Amanda, congratulations on the birth of your daughter and I wish you, Tracye, and all of the participants in our group abundant blessings throughout this journey together and throughout 2012!

Did you get my email address? I have not gotten an email from you. I started though..I actuallly started early and have gotten a good ways into Exodus. I will try to get herr mondays, but i work 7 am to 11 pm on Sat and Sunday, so I tend to sleep all the way until I work the 3-11 shift on Mon. That is also part of the reason I am trying to read ahead. Mondays will be a challenge.

Sara: I do have your name down but I do not have any contact information for you. If you could send me an email to tlgoad AT comcast DOT net, I will get your email set up! Thanks for checking in! If you need to check in on another day of the week, that is perfectly fine!! Everyone else: I'm so thrilled with how many of you got started strongly and are already seeing great things! Keep up the GREAT work!
