B90 Check in Week 12 (Monday March 19, 2012)

If I could do back handsprings, I think I'd be doing a few right now.  However, since I'm a complete and total klutz, I think I will just let my daughter do a few for more!

We are rapidly approaching the finish line.  Granted, once we reach the end we aren't "really" finished since we will want to continue spending time in God's word.  However, I can't help but get a bit really excited that we are so very much near reaching our goal.  Even if you need a few (or even many more!) days to finish, just knowing you have read the Bible cover-to-cover is such an accomplishment!  It will have been worth each and every moment spent.

The last several days have been completely overwhelming for me, but in a GREAT way.  I was blessed to attend the full Hearts at Home National Conference and I am so completely recharged, rejuvenated, and READY to tackle some new things with God.  At the moment, I am exhausted.  I wasn't expecting that!  It's so strange to be SO encouraged and READY to embrace motherhood in a deeper capacity, yet so physically and emotionally drained.  I plan to take the next several days just soaking in everything I learned and spending some one-on-one time with God as I wait for Him to show me which things I learned that He wants me to focus on first.  I'm sure there will be many posts coming up in the next few weeks!  :)

While I was attending and giving every once of my heart to Him to fully absorb EVERYTHING, I OFTEN thought of B90 and the blessing of having spent so much time in His word.  I noticed something incredible.  Many times speakers would quote scripture, but they wouldn't necessarily give the chapter and verse.  I found that MANY times I KNEW where it came from.  So many times before I would recognize a verse, but I would be CLUELESS as to where it was found in the Bible.  THIS time I often was able to automatically know the reference.  It may not have been exact chapter and verse, but I knew which book and area to look.  When they would give a scripture reference, I was able to RAPIDLY turn to it.  My confidence in using my Bible SOARED.  It was proof to my heart that even though this is FAST reading, it IS SOAKING in.  Though I've known the benefits of B90 for a long time and obviously BELIEVE in the power it brings emotionally and spiritually, this weekend gave me a practical glimpse of how it is changing me and I just sat there with tears in my eyes many times for the gratitude.  OH my.

I admit that I am now about 3 days behind.   I initially planned to keep up with B90 through the Hearts conference, but once I got there I realized that I really needed to give all of me to the experience and I was so overwhelmed in the evenings with how much information I had heard through the day that I couldn't focus on the reading.  I have a plan in place to hopefully be fully caught up by the end of Tuesday night.  I still want to finish strong!

I pray that each of you have an incredible week in God's word and that something you read EVERY day brings you closer to Him in a fresh new way.

Wow! Only four more days after this week? I hadn't realized that! I started this week behind by one day--tried every single day to catch it up but couldn't--but FINALLY I got it caught up and I am on track again! Praise the Lord! I was sad to finish the Gospels, though I know there are still good things ahead. Found myself reading one day without my highlighter--it was terrible! I kept finding things I wanted to high light and couldn't!

This past week was absolutely terrible in many ways--but God got me through it and His Word stayed great! :)

WOW!!! I just read your comment about only 4 days left after this week? Seriously???? I am so excited. Thank you for the prayers, I did have extra time to read. Tonight I am finishing Luke! So still a book and a few chapters behind, but not bad! God has graciously allotted me more time for reading this week! I'm taking my sixth grade class to science camp and the teachers get their own cabin! So from 8:30pm on each night I've got quiet time for two nights. I'm going to catch up hopefully. I appreciate the encouragement so much.

I am just loving the gospels. I was particularly struck how after healing someone, the man begged Jesus to let him literally follow Him and the disciples and Jesus told him to turn back and share what He had done with his family and friends. I was encouraged to really share more this week about how God has been pouring out his abundant blessings on my family. He is faithful!

That's so funny - it irritates me when people quote scripture like that and don't give the reference or they'll just give the book but not the chapter or verse.

I have a small praise: I applied for a job in November last year and didn't get it but the H.R. people remembered me and wrote me last week that another position was open that I might want to apply for! So that's what I'm doing tomorrow. I have to take a typing test so please pray God will help my fingers fly accurately!

Hi all,

I am waaayy behind and don't think there's any chance of me catching up in the next week and four days! But I just wanted to check in and say that I'm still reading and intend to finish, though probably a few weeks behind :)

I am still far, far behind. To be sure I have additional reading and studying to do, but that's an excuse. I've been off my game badly these last few weeks, hoping to get back on track soon.

To all of you who are behind, your perseverance is inspiring! I love that you all are keeping on!! Praying for you all!

I, too, attended Hearts at Home this past weekend so I ended up behind, but this morning I was able to get up early enough before my daughter and catch up. So, I am now on track again. I loved reading the gospels and am very much enjoying Acts. I will say though that reading about the crucifixion in John was tough. It was the more in depth account, I thought, and therefore, it was just heartbreaking to read. Did anyone else find that? Anyways, I am enjoying so much my first read through the Bible from cover to cover. I have already decided I want to do the next B90 as well because now that I have done it once, I think it will be awesome to do it again so that more will stick and come together in my brain.

Thank you as always, Tracye, for the prayers. Also, on a side note, I look forward to your future posts about what you gleaned from Hearts. It is always such a blessing. I am still digesting and starting to put some things into practice. God is so faithful. Anyways, I look forward to reading about your experience. :)

I'm so proud of EACH of you! So happy to hear that some of you are catching up and that others of you are NOT GIVING up! Debbie: praying for you today & that you FLY on that test. Sheri: we could have been sitting in the same workshops and wouldn't have known it! What a weekend! I'm about to sit down and read some more, REALLY trying to get caught back up by the end of tomorrow!

Hey Sheri: I had commented earlier today on HAH's status update about what "one" thing (which I haven't decided yet!)I was going to work on. When I went back a few minutes ago to see what others were blessed by, I realized that I THINK I commented directly after you! Small world!

LOL, Tracye, that is hilarious!! You probably did because I did comment on it this morning! I thought of you throughout the weekend as I was sitting in my workshops thinking about how we could have been in the same workshops. That is too funny. Definitely a small world! :D

just checking in ... late. still hanging in there and so excited we aer so close! if i can suggest one thing...it is a good idea to have another study or reading plan ready to begin once you finish the b90. last year when i finished the plan i felt lost not having something ready to go the next morning. it takes a significant amount of time, and i dearly miss that hour in the bible...so i'm gearing up for a study next week. have a blessed week!

Connie: You are SO very right! After I finish B90, I always feel so "lost" by not spending that same amount of time. Just reading a few verses doesn't feel right after you've spent 90 days of intense reading. A good plan definitely helps! This time I read on my phone and tagged all the verses that spoke to me in some capacity. I plan to go back and highlight those in my actual Bible and then write out why it meant something to me or study for answers if it was a question. As of this morning, I'm back on track. In the middle of today's reading!
